Our mission at CDBKA is to promote healthy and productive bee colonies across the areas. We do this by helping beekeepers build their skills and confidence. We have a strong training program to support beekeepers of all levels of experience.
Apiary Training Between April and September, club meetings take place weekly on a Thursday evening at the club apiary near Cirencester. Our meetings provide an opportunity for beekeepers of all skill levels to learn and to share new ideas.
HOT Bees (Hands On Training We support new beekeepers with a structured, hands-on mentoring program which teaches them build basic apicultural skills over the course of two years. At the conclusion of the program, the new beekeeper will have achieved the BBKA Basic Certificate in beekeeping, giving them the strongest possible start to their beekeeping journey.
Winter Lecture Series We run lectures, workshops, and fun events every other Thursday evening from October to April at the Royal Agricultural University, Stroud Road, Cirencester, GL7 6JS. The events are for beekeepers of all levels and provide all with opportunities to build friendship and learn from each other.
Advanced Learning Opportunities The club also supports members to study for other advanced BBKA exams including Bee Health, BBKA Module exams and General Husbandry.
